When I post it always sets the time back like three hours? It is really 7:33 in the morning......hmm
Anyways! Yesterday was amazing! Dave and I have already, on the first day, been justified on why choosing Canada as our travel destination was the right choice. The weather has been rainy and cold, but that hasn't made us upset at all. Ottawa is an amazing city! I would love to live there! Wow!
We started off the morning early and rose to make some breakfast. "Barry", one of our current neighbours (there are probably around 7 RVS parked up front, and we are the lonely tenters in the rain! they pity us), came up to us and introduced himself, he says that he turned 70 on Monday, and this is what he likes to do, he likes to travel. He has spent the past two months driving around the states. He was very very nice. He went into town to grab a paper and brought back two coffees for us and said "God Bless!". We have also met another neighbour, I forget his name... but he is from Manitoba and he has been very helpful. Its him and his wife Sandy, and their little yorkie dog travelling around. But anyways, so Dave and I cooked up some breakfast and cleaned up and drove into Ottawa.
We found Ottawa very easily, because the road we are camping on, Bank St, if you take it long enough brings you to Parliament! So we drove there, and marveled at how beautiful the River is. We drove down Sussex and found Stephen Harper's home. Then we decided to park the car. We parked it for the day and walked around. First we went to the Rideau Canal, and Parliament. It was great to be there! I never understood how beautiful it was. We spent some good time there. We ate our packed lunches : ). Then we headed off down the street past the Supreme Court towards the War Museum. We got a special package deal so we got tickets for that Museum and the Civilization Museum. The War Museum was pretty interesting. Dave loved it of course. From there we crossed the bridge over to Quebec to the Civilization Museum. That was great. The totem poles were stunning! Dave and I stared in awe! We spent time there until it closed and walked back to our car and picked it up. Drove back to our little "home" here at Camp Hither Hills. We got back here around 8:00pm. We made our own kitchen tent with a tarp, pieces of wood, picnic table and more (I got a picture), so we could make some dinner.
After that we snuggled into our sleeping bags, which have kept us SO warm. Off to bed.
Here we are on the second morning. Dave is making coffee, then we are going to pack up our stuff, and head off to Montreal!
Love you all! Miss you all!
Pictures Soon!
Sidenote: Auntie Jo! I have been snapping pictures non-stop.
